Watch The Music of Nilsson 1971 BBC special
I love the work of Harry Nilsson.
Harry was one of the best singer/songwriters of the 1970s, and he wrote some wonderful songs that are still covered today (Without You is probably the most popular one). He was the Beatles’ favorite “band” (when they gave that response in an interview reporters scrambled to find out who he was) and he hung out – and drank a lot – with John Lennon.
Here’s a little touch of Nilsson, a 1971 BBC special called The Music of Nilsson. I dare say some of the live versions he sings on this are better than the album recordings. Enjoy.
