Ironically, just as the hype machine is beginning for this late summer action blockbuster, we were recently treated to what appears (to me, at least) to a more realistic version of the characters… courtesy of the new cartoon G.I.Joe: Resolute, shown by Cartoon Network as part of their Adult Swim programming block. Penned by writer extraordinaire Warren Ellis, the first 5 minutes of the movie showed Moscow being destroyed and two characters from the old ‘toon killed, one in a rather gruesome fashion. See what I mean? Hard. Core. And definitely NOT for kids…
