Jack Klugman suing NBC over Quincy, M.E. profits

I’ve written repeatedly about my love for The Odd Couple tv series, and I won’t gush any more here except to say that it was one of the perfect matches of actors ever, in Klugman and Randall. What I have neglected to mention is that I am also quite fond of both actors individual work, especially Klugman’s Quincy M.E.

About once a month at work when I am trying to make a point I subconsciously do the “Quincy figures” gesture, which Jack did about once a week.

(Quick how-to: put the thumb of your right hand on your index finger, angle your hand slightly to the right, and curl your other fingures – then gesticulate with said hand back and forth, matching the inflection of your voice; repeat as needed.)

News just broke that Jack is suing NBC for profits from said series. Good luck, man; with Hollywood’s creative accounting process, you’ll need it.

More details at The Church of Klugman (not kidding, there is such a site).
