Finally got around to watching the Knight Rider TV-movie revival/back door pilot. This, in case you don’t know, is the FOURTH time Universal has tried to revive this show. Yes, fourth.
So, was it any good? Well…
I hate to admit it – I liked it. Not a lot, but enough.
I was a fan of he original (I was 12 at the time, the perfect age – and target audience) and there was enough tips of the old hat to it to make me smile. And I got freakin CHILLS from the first shot of Michael Knight at the end.
“One man can make a difference.” Yes, yes he can.
CHEERED at the C-130 gag at the end.
Finally, the car was cool – and that’s the main point, isn’t it?
Hey, let’s face it – the original wasn’t Masterpiece Theater, and this wasn’t either. It wasn’t the best Glen A. Larson series revival (which, of course, is Galactica) but it was fun bubble-gum TV.
Hope it goes to series (and, looking at the ratings, that may be all but assured).
