Another one of the greats has left us. Eartha Kitt, star of stage and screen (and second-best Catwoman ever) has passed away.

Will U.N.C.L.E. a day return? Well… maybe.
My regular reader may have noticed I have not posted an U.N.C.L.E. a day column for… well, several days (a few weeks actually).
The long and the short of it is simple – the end of the year activities, both personally and professionally, has not allowed me the luxury of sitting down and watching a 50 minute TV program every day. In fact, my DVR is overflowing with shows (I have almost the entire season two of Mad Men to watch, all of the Sarah Conner Chronicles to date, and a bunch of documentary stuff) that I just cannot attend to. Truly a first-world problem, not being able to catch up on my recorded content. I only hope this continues to be a problem, as this will mean I remain gainfully employed….
So I MAY be able to carve out the time to revive this feature, but odds are it will be sleeping with the fishes for a while (as was my previous attempt at podcasting, as was my recent plans to revive said podcast). Being the head of a household of five and having a job that requires an average of 50 hours a week to do it well… it becomes all you can manage sometimes to just keep those balls in the air.
Look for more U.N.C.L.E. posts in the future, though… I’m too much a fan of the show to just drop it…
Sad news – Majel Barrett-Roddenberry has died…
Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, the “First Lady of Trek” who, among other things, played Nurse Chapel in the original series, was the wife of Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, and was the voice of the computer on almost all iterations of Star Trek, has died. Here’s a lengthy bio…
VIDEO: G.I.Joe Resolute preview
Better late than never, I just found the bootleg video from the San Diego Comics Con for the upcoming animated “mini-series” G.I.Joe Resolute. Geared more for adults than kids, it’s very violent. Yah violence!
First Forry, now Bettie: Bettie Page RIP…
The woman who made me attracted to brunettes has died. Pin-up idol Bettie Page has passed away at age 85. Here’s some initial details.
UPDATE: Official update from the official website (some pics, naturally, are not safe for work) is here.
Hooray! The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E. on DVD on March 3rd!
The Digital Bits just posted a news item that included a list of upcoming releases and on said list was the 1983 TV-movie reunion of those men from U.N.C.L.E., called (appropriately enough) The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E. This is the one shortcoming of the complete box set of the series, in that it did not include this in the release. Well, the reason is obvious now – Paramount owns the video rights for it. Hopefully there will be some extras and it won’t be a bare-bones release (though I think that it probably will be).
I can count on the fingers on one hand the number of people on Earth who will be excited about this and I know half of them… but good news nonetheless… Now let’s see the original Batman series on DVD!
Look! Napoleon Solo meets James Bond!
