As many of you know the SXSW conference has set up a panel picker where anyone (yes, even you!) get a chance to vote on what panels you want to see selected to be presented next year at either the Film, Interactive or Music festival. I’ve selected seven panels that I have found particularly interesting to me and may also be useful to you as well. If you want to see any of these panels when you attend SXSW, well, what are you waiting for? Vote now!
(Modesty prevents me from hyping my own panels in the context of this posting, though, if you would do a fella a favor, you can also click here and vote for my proposals.)
Software Agents and the Ethics of Assistant-ness
The days of “clippy” is long gone – or is it? This panel covers some interesting content around software agents and how they can assist you in your daily tasks.
HTML 5 is offering some real breakthroughs when it comes to the baseline interactivity a browser can render – this panel is all about making all that cool interactivity accessible to those who use assistive technology to browse the web.
User Experience without design
This panel from a Google UX designer is all about the “full” experience, and how that is more than just forms on a web page. Right up my alley.
Strategic User Experience: Not Just for Products Anymore
Another panel on “holistic” user experience, how designer have to look at the full lifecycle of interaction users have with products and companies. Again, my kinda panel.
Designing the First 15 Minutes
A great-looking panel about how important the first experience your users have with your design is – and how not to screw it up (because, as I often say, negative experiences linger longer).
A perfect panel for me, as I am always digging through user data (I’m about to do a LOT of data analysis from three weeks worth of user interviews and diaries – pray for me).
I need an Idea, Stat! Methods for generating ideas.
My pay Amy Cueva from Mad*Pow is (hopefully) presenting this one, and I’d love to get more ideas on… err, how to get more ideas.
