Odd things I’ve found on the Internet today: The Ultimate Millennium Falcon and Scrooge McDuck’s money bin…

by Joseph on April 16, 2008

Whether you like Donald Duck comic or not, this scale model of Scrooge McDuck’s money bin is brilliant.

I used to look at detailed craftsmanship and model work like this with some degree of jealously, as I have never had the patience or skill to do similar work. I’ve moved beyond that now, since even the worse modeling job I do is an enjoyable distraction (especially when I’m working with my sons to do it). I am also grateful that a significant number of companies have begun to sell pre-painted and pre-detailed models already built (some with lights and sound) that beat anything I could ever craft myself.

Which is why when I saw this Ultimate Star Wars Millennium Falcon toy/playset that my ol’ pal DDD at Hasbro toys had gotten designed and released… well, it made me all smiley-happy.

2 1/2 feet long. Accurately scaled to the 3 3/4″ action figures. With lights and sound effects. Oh yes. It will be mine.

Already clearing the shelf space for it. Heck, I may have to buy a new, wider shelf FOR it….

Sure beats the original toy up and leaves it wimpering on the side of the road…
