Then they bring out Kenny Baker, who played R2…
Well, they wheeled him out, actually, in a wheelchair.
He was not well.
Sadly, Baker has pneumonia, and asthma, and you could barely understand what he said most of the time. They ended up playing a clip from an interview that is on the making of Star Wars DVD to fill his segment, in order to fill his time. His rasping voice was similar to one I had heard yers before – the voice of my grandmother, as she was gasping for her last breaths in her fight with cancer.
I wish Kenny well. Please keep him in your prayers.
