On the Oscar’s “In Memorium” segment…

February 25th, 2009 Joseph Comments

Being a huge fan of Patrick McGoohan, I was pretty disappointed/ticked off at his omission from the In Memorium segment on the Oscars Sunday. This article/review of the new movie Watchmen (based on the Best. Comic. Ever) compares it to The Godfather. If this is so, I may lose control of all my bodily functions next Friday when it opens and I finally get a chance to view it. Gods Damn it, I want to see this NOW!!!!

By all that’s holy… will we finally see Orson Welles’ last film, The Other Side of the Wind?

February 21st, 2009 Joseph Comments

I’m a HUGE Orson Welles fan, as big (pun unintended when it comes to Orson) as they come, and this article has quotes from people involved in the making and support of his last film, The Other Side of the Wind, saying that they are very close to resolving the legal issues/editing the original footage together. Heck, Welles friend and scholar Peter Bogdanvich says that they are close to having a print ready by Cannes, in TWO MONTHS.

Wow.

The fact that the movie also starred noted direct John Huston makes this all the more exciting…

Film gods, PLEASE make this happen.
