Galactica Season 4: Quick Reax

by Joseph on April 5, 2008

Well, was it worth the wait?

Yes, I believe it was. LOTS of stuff going on in the fourth season premiere of Battlestar: Galactica. Viewers got some great character stuff with, well, everybody. We also see just how hard it is to be a messiah, which doesn’t stop Baltar from trying (though there are some… “fringe benefits”). We once again witness a fantastic space battle stuff in the first act (that looks like they blew through their effects budget for the first half of the season already).

And finally… we get that frakkin’ “To be continued” title card at the end. ARGHHH.

MUCH better start to this season that last one, in my opinion (though the New Caprica stuff was definitely a change of pace, I think it overstayed its welcome by an episode or two). But hey, why listen to me? Watch and judge for yourself:

New Bond Villain Is An Evil Eco-Entrepreneur
Ecorazzi, NY - 1 hour ago
It seems the environmental forces swirling around the world have infiltrated the plot line of the next James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

The first in a series of really off-the-mark predictions of where we would be in the future from B and C-grade SF shows from the 60s and 70s. Our first example: Land of the Giants. In the future (i.e. 1983) we were supposed to be flying space airlines from London to LA via the “ultra-fast” route of the Earth’s orbit. Ahem. Yeah.

Here’s the first 10 minutes or so of the first episode (Oh, and dig the “space lightning”!):
